Mike was able to pull us off just at an exit point where he had a bit more room to work. I first called
our Roadside Assistance but it only covered the car and truck, not the trailer but they gave me some
phone numbers (that were out of order or unavailable). We finally gave up and Mike finally changed it.
A Highway Patrolman came along and told me that I had a smart husband to pull off just where he had.
When we do things we do them in a mighty way. The wire radials spun up under the trailer and broke through the plastic shield "protecting" the water lines for the trailer and then cut through both water lines.
We drove to Roy and stopped at the first RV place that we saw. The guy told Mike that he "might" be able to fit it in on Tuesday. We were referred to another place where the mechanic only comes in on Wednesday. We drove on into Ogden and stopped at State RV Supply. Someone had just cancelled an appointment so we were second in line. We thought we would have to go somewhere else to get a tire but the guy did everything and really seemed to want to do things right. Finally, about 2:30 PM we were on the road.
When we stopped for gas just out of Twin Falls we got another surprise. The battery was dead. Mike cleaned in and got the truck started but when we got to our campground it wouldn't start again. We quickly unhooked the trailer and drove to the only place that was open on Friday night, Walmart in Jerome, about 30 miles away. We got into the trailer about 10:15 PM.
We noticed a mammoth building being constructed across the road from the station. Mike asked a guy at the next pump and he said that it will be a Yoplait Yogurt plant that will supply the entire western U.S.
NO, WE DO NOT HAVE A TWO YEAR OLD but I laughed when I found that our toilet paper had unwound itself onto the floor from its roller on the bathroom door.
SATURDAY
Things became a lot smoother the next morning. Mike left for a class on Herbal Medicine given by a Veterinarian in Buhl. I stayed behind, walked, read, and went swimming in the hot springs pool.
Dr. Jone's Veterinarian Office
That evening we took a two hour dinner cruise down the Snake River.
The food was excellent and the scenery wonderful!
Sunday we got up and went to church at the Hagerman Ward then ate, slept, read and decided to go for a drive to the Hagerman Fossil Beds which were only a few miles from our campground.
We went to the first stop for the Fossil Beds and saw a lake that is a remnant of Lake Bonneville. We picked up a flyer on the Beds and it said that the next spot was 4 miles. When the pavement took a clear left my driver decided to keep going straight on a dirt road. I'm not certain to this moment why? Perhaps we were going to sneak up on it from the rear? My only clear answer is that I am married to a man. Anyway we drove, and drove, and drove, and drove, and drove and hit a dead end and did all of the way back. We saw many, many clusters of power windmills and there were often about 25 in the cluster. There must be literally hundreds of them.
It was dark by the time we got home.
We hooked up after breakfast on Monday morning and headed home. We stopped in Twin Falls to see the Shoshone Falls. It is a low water time so it isn't as pretty as it can be but it was still a beautiful stop. The falls is called the "Niagra of the West" . It is actually taller than Niagra 212 ft. and 900 feet wide when the water is all flowing. I got a picture from the web so that we could compare.
We arrived home about 4:30 that afternoon.

Kate says "I'm glad you got there and I'm glad you can fix the tire!"
