A Busy Week

We have had a busy last week. On Monday we had two couples from the Ward over for dinner and we played Train Dominoes. We had a great evening.

On Tuesday we went up to Provo to the hand specialist and found out that I need to have surgery and have the metal removed from my finger. He thinks it may be keeping my finger from moving. The "humorous" thing is that he doesn't know what the Chinese used to put in there so he said that he would have every possible tool there hoping to match the hardware but if he can't he will snip it in half and then make another incision under the finger and pull it out. Exciting, huh?

On Wednesday and Thursday Art came down and worked his head off helping us with the back yard. We rented a bobcat and Mike drove and Art assisted. They moved the rocks around for the beginnings of our rock garden and spread a load of topsoil. I spent the day digging up huge weeds so that the soil could be spread evenly.

On Wednesday Art painted the much balcony that was in GREAT need of paint. Some of it had never been painted. I painted the posts on the front porch and on the patio while he was painting there.

This is the picture that the Allstate appraiser took in 2005 to estimate insurance value. He said that we needed to paint the balcony then. It has ONLY been 5 years since then.

On Friday we went to Mt. Timp. Temple to the wedding of Pat's granddaughter and then we went to the luncheon after. We stopped past the Vineyard nursery between the two and found out the the trees and shrubs were 50% off. We dropped off Mom's laundry which I had picked up on Tuesday and headed home.

About 30 minutes after we got home on Friday my cousin Charlene and her husband, John Blake came to visit and spend the night. We went out for a great Mexican meal here in town and then had a pleasant visit. The next morning after breakfast we drove up Fairview Canyon. Most of the color was gone but we were able to get a few nice pictures.

After the Blakes had gone home we decided to hop in the truck and go to Vineyard Nursery and get some fruit trees and shrubs. We bought a peach, plum, apple and apricot tree and five shrubs to put around my newly painted bathtub that will go in the tulip garden in the front.

This morning, Monday, we have had some rain but Mike is already at work hauling topsoil, digging holes and planting the peach tree. Hope we live long enough to get nice fruit and veggies from this wonderful world we are creating.

It's going to be so nice when it's all done. Art's already told me about all the projects we need to help with in the spring:)
