Great Stories from the last few days.....

One of my classmates from Provo High class of 1960 runs a blog about class members.  Sadly, most posts are obituaries.  This week he mentioned that the home of one of our classmates was burned in the Santa Rosa California fire and gave us her email address. She and I were not close friends but did things musically together.  This picture was included in an news article about the fire.

I wrote to her and told her how sorry I was.  She said the wind suddenly shifted and they had only time to grab a few musical instruments and one change of clothes.  She shared an interesting item, however.

She said that there is an event planned for the Oakland Temple this summer and that a musical which she wrote is to be performed.  She said that there was a truck in her front yard containing all of the scenery for the performance that was completely surrounded by burned trees that was left untouched.Coffey Park where KMart was burned that contained all of the costumes that was untouched.  She feels that that Lord's hand certainly touched both situations. 

Yesterday we were able to go down to the chapel next to the temple for a few minutes of a concert by a traveling singing group from Utah (Starr Singers) and a talk by the Area Regional Representative.  I will have to find his name.  We only heard one song because it was time for our shift but he told a personal story of coming home from his mission and wanting to go to the temple but not having any money in his pockets.  He thought that he would try to walk the distance but as he was walking along he found a bill on the sidewalk.  He looked all around and could not see anyone that could have dropped it.  It was exactly what he needed to get to the temple and back.
