The first day we boarded a local bus and went for miles along the sea and Lao Shan mountain to a Taoist Temple. The area where the mountain and the water meets is very sacred to them.
Another place that we hadn't even heard of was Tian Mu City. I used to be an area with old mills and factories and now it is huge screens, stages, shops and places to eat. Even the top was enclosed with wonderful painting and things live airplanes flying past in the sky. It was absolutely amazing to walk off the street into a doorway and find this.

We took a short cruise out onto the Yellow Sea.

We went up onto Signal Hill were the ocean was watched from many years of wars and conflict. The red dome is a revolving tower that you take quite a hike to and then up. My knees have been telling me to get the massage therapist again. The view of the city was awesome.

Another place that we couldn't believe had been hiding from us was Pi Chai Yard. We had some of the best food we have had in China in this little 2 block long strip of stores, entertainment and restaurants. It is just around the corner from a place that we have often eaten at when we go to get pearls.
Are you sure none of you plan to come to Qingdao before we leave?
