Ron and Sherry Moore Visit from Georgia

When we were in Canada on Atlantic time my phone rang at about 11:00.  I hopped up frightened that there was an emergency.  It was Vivian Hansen calling from Atlanta and assuming that we were in Utah.  She was wanting to tell us that Ron Moore was bringing his new wife to Utah and wanted to visit us.

The night that we arrived Ron called and said that they would like to come down.  We invited them to plan to spend the night and he said that he would talk to his wife.  He called back on Friday and said that they would like to spend Saturday and Sunday nights.  I had to hustle to get things ready for 6 meals and I also had to prepare a Sunday School lesson but it turned out to be a great visit.  She is a lovely, spiritual lady and such a nice partner for Ron.
We invited Todd and Robin Gubeli, who live down in Gunnison to come and have dinner with us.  Ron wanted to see him and we thought we would enjoy being together.  A tender mercy happened as we were talking about the fact that the Manti temple is closed for cleaning and the Moore's were disappointed that they wouldn't be able to see the inside of the building.  Todd is the head custodian at the Temple and Robin turned to him and asked if they couldn't come down and help clean and at least see the interior.  It was arranged and the four of us went down.  We saw everything from the upstairs priesthood room, the spiral staircases, the air conditioning and hidden storage rooms and we walked the cat-walk between the two towers.  We were able to polish some of the wood in one of the rooms.  (It was fun for me to find out last night that the chairs that I polished had been owned by Pres. McAllister, the third Manti Temple president and had been donated to the temple by our good friends, Jack and Joan McAllister.
